The Renewal Solo Tile is one of 12 patterned choices available from the Natural Collection, with a further 200 options available from the recycled colour palette. The recycled yarn out performs Virgin 6.6. Yarn in many departments, the anti- stain, anti-soil and anti microbial treatments are all placed into the yarns without the use of petrol-based chemicals. The backing is a foam gel manufactured from natural minerals such as chalk and rubber. The recommended tackifier is a water-based product. This type of carpet tile manufacture will enable the product to pass even the most stringent environmental criteria.

The department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs has chosen a bespoke design from the Renewal Natural Collection for installation into two of its office refurbishments.

The DEFRA Reading building, a 2000m installation was completed in May, while the first phase of the 6,700m DEFRA York installation will be completed later this year. Phoenix Direct Floors of Leeds have been selected to install the tile into the York office building. “Working with such clean, light and pliable tiles is totally different to the usual dirty and heavy bitumen backed tile. Somerset College recently completed a new student conference and research centre. The building named “The Genesis Project” is believed to be one of the most environmentally friendly buildings in Britain.

Construction suppliers Wolseley have announced they are to build a £3 million Sustainable Building Centre. The Centre will be situated next to their giant Distribution Centre on Spa Park, Leamington.

The Wolseley Group, being one of the largest supplier of materials to the construction industry in Europe, is building the Centre to show case all the environmental and sustainable building products available.

Wolseley will also offer a full construction package, helping the client with design, procurement and construction. Renewal Carpet Tiles have been invited to exhibit in the new Centre and the Natural exhibit in the new Centre and the Natural the public areas within the Sustainable Building Centre.
