Without using harmful products such as PVC, Bitumen and Carbon Black, Renewal® have developed a tile product with hardly traceable VOCs. The unique RenewGel® backing consists mainly of rubber and minerals.

It’s lighter, cleaner, safer and greener than any of its competitors. To compliment the environmentally friendly RenewGel® backing, Renewal® chose polymide nylon 6 solution dyed yarns.

Manufactured by a leading supplier of yarns, this solution dyed material oers a hard wearing, anti-stain, anti-microbial yarn which is environmentally responsible to produce, easier to maintain and totally recyclable.

The solution dyed Nylon 6 polymer is produced by a single monomer and is a more efficient process than for Nylon 6.6. This gives sustainable energy savings during manufacture including: 20% less energy used, 200% less water consumed and 25% less CO2 emitted.

Renewal® closes the loop by recycling it’s own product at the end of it’s useful life. Having developed an environmentally friendly commercial tile and seeing the problems caused when trying to dispose of old bitumen and PVC backed tiles, Renewal® now include all their products into it’s “Renewal® Re-Cycling Scheme”.

This scheme allows Renewal® to re-use all it’s products by bringing them back into the factory and re-cycling them into Re-Lay®, a rubber based residential underlay product.
